USCG/Merchant Marines Certification Process

The US Coast Guard (USCG) has approved the AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (Heartsaver Total) Course as meeting the USCG Elementary First Aid* training requirements of: Elementary First Aid per STCW Code Table A-VI/1-3; Elementary First Aid per 46 CFR 11.302(a)(3) and 46 CFR 12.602(a)(3); The first aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1)*All elective sections of Heartsaver First Aid with CPR AED (AMERHA-216) must be given.

  1. Register for a class date and time below. (Factor in some time to complete Pre-Class Learning)
  2. Purchase and complete the online portion of the training from the American Heart Association. Note that all elective sections must be completed. Heartcode Total.
  3. Complete Pre-Class Learning Modules
  4. Attend Class and Successfully Demonstrate Skills
  5. Receive your certificate in class

We offer training at your location, any day, any time, with only a 4 person minimum.

  • Heartsaver Total® – First Aid CPR AED Online offers the convenience of digital learning for students that are required to take CPR & first aid training to meet job requirements. If all requirements are met, this course path results in a course completion card that is designed to meet regulatory and or OSHA requirements. The eLearning portion of the Heartsaver Total® – First Aid CPR AED Online blended learning course is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for first aid, CPR, and AED training. Following completion of the online portion, students must complete a hands-on skills session which is included with this purchase by selecting a date and time. 
  • NOTE: The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
  • Please try to arrive at class 10 minutes early to check-in.
  • Class Location: 100 Commercial Circle, Building A, 2nd Floor, Conroe, Texas 77304 (FM 2854 1 Mile West of the Conroe Central Library. Across the street from SRM Concrete formerly Yancy Concrete). While the building is handicap accessible, the training center is on the second floor. If you need accommodations for stairs please reach out.
  • You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. You may need to bend, stand, lift, and work on your hands and knees.
