US Coast Guard / Merchant Mariners
All mariners (persons employed in a sea-going vessel) employed aboard U.S. Merchant vessels and operators of uninspected passenger vessels (such as charter fishing guides and tour boat operators) are required to have a currently valid certificate of completion of an USCG approved first aid and CPR class. HSI Adult First Aid | CPR AED is approved by the USCG/NMC for the purpose of satisfying First Aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1) and 46 CFR 11.205(i)(2)(iii) for a merchant mariner credential.

CPR AED and First Aid
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (Conroe and College Station Training Centers)
Regulation states: "e) Certification required. An applicant must have: (1) current certification in the techniques of professional rescuer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator... (2) In addition to the number of continuing education clock-hours required under this subsection, a licensee must also show proof of current Emergency Cardiac Care certification at the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers/Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers level or beyond, which shall be maintained throughout each license term."
